Silaev, Nikolai Lukich

A Moscow painter born in the village of Alexandrovka, Oryol region.  He started his artistic education at the Moscow M.I. Kalinin Art-Industrial College and continued at the Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts under A.A. Deineka.  In 1961 Silaev started exhibiting  and joined the Union of Artists of the USSR in 1962.  His major genre works were devoted to the themes of the War and Revolution and his monumental wall pieces were dedicated to patriotic subjects and sports.  The artistís works are kept in the Museum of History of the City of Moscow, Central Museum of the Ministry of Home Affairs of Russia.
