Kuzmin, Ardalion Valentinovich

Ardalion Kuzman was born in Sasykoli, Astrakhan region. In 1946 he entered the art school attached to the Repin Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Leningrad (St. Petersburg).  Then he entered the Academy where he studied under I. Serebryany and B. Kharchenko.  After graduating in 1960 he was directed to Novosibirsk.  There he became a teacher of drawing and painting in the local Architecture Institute of Pedagogical University. In 1979-1982 Professor Kuzmin was elected Chairman of Novosibirsk Branch of the Artists Union.  The most important part of his artistic heritage is landscape and seascape paintingincluding great series of watercolors dedicated to Old Russian towns, severe nature of Sibeand harbors of the Far East of Russia.
